UVCE – Career App
UVCE - Career App
UVCE is a mobile career development application built for both Android and iOS, designed to connect university alumni with job opportunities, training programs, and professional development pathways. The platform also enables seamless collaboration between universities, companies, and training institutions. In this project, I contributed as part of the backend engineering team, responsible for designing and implementing the system’s core logic and API infrastructure.

Description
UVCE aims to empower alumni by providing easy, mobile-first access to career opportunities, relevant training programs, and personal development tools. The app features personalized dashboards, job exploration and registration, certificate conversion, and profile management. Meanwhile, the university can monitor alumni career progression and understand industry alignment, whereas companies and training institutions gain access to verified candidate pools and can manage job postings or training programs. As a backend engineer, I worked on building secure, scalable APIs, developing data models, and ensuring the system’s reliability across multiple roles and workflows within the mobile ecosystem.
THE STORY
The project emerged from the university's need to support alumni more effectively while maintaining insight into their career journeys. Traditional systems were limited, often inaccessible, and lacked real-time data analytics. Universities needed a structured way to observe graduate outcomes, alumni needed a centralized place to access opportunities, and companies required an efficient channel to find qualified candidates. Recognizing these challenges, our team initiated UVCE as a mobile-first solution. Throughout development, I collaborated closely with mobile developers, UI/UX designers, and university stakeholders to ensure the backend aligned with real academic workflows and industry needs. Our iterative process contributed significantly in shaping the platform toward deployment readiness.
OUR APPROACH
My approach as a backend engineer focused on building a secure and scalable infrastructure capable of supporting multi-role interactions among alumni, universities, companies, and training institutions. I designed RESTful APIs, structured data relationships, handled authentication and authorization flows, and ensured data consistency across complex modules like job postings, training management, certificate conversion, and alumni career tracking. Working alongside the rest of the team, we emphasized performance, reliability, and clean architecture so the mobile app could deliver a smooth and intuitive experience on both Android and iOS. This foundation allows UVCE to grow and evolve as the university expands its career development ecosystem.
